These recordings are from a reel to reel tapes that David Hall gave to his uncle, Eric Hall (See "Happy Harmonies" on soundclick). They were taken from the master tapes that produced the album, "Ship Ahoy". Eric Hall was my grandfather who gave the tapes to myself ("Peter Hall" on soundclick)

Story behind the song
Adrian Assa from Central Java, Indonesia discovered this web page and sent me this recording. The Gospel Firebrands went to Indonesia in the mid 70's because the church they were associated with had planted a church there at the time. This recording is a transfer from an old cassette tape, but this recording gives you an idea of the feel the Firebrands had at a live concert. The high tenor is my cousin; David Hall. I may be biased, but his voice gave the Firebrands a unique sound. They re-produced their tight harmony singing live as you can hear. Thanks Adrian for the recording !. ("C-60" means there was 60 minutes of tape on the cassette)
