Story behind the song
The song title actually has nothing to dowith the lyrics. When Daniel sent me the music he titled it this, and it stuck, haha. The lyrics are about fighting personal demons and like many songs that will be a reoccurring theme on "Memoirs", are also about addiction. This one focuses on the middle stages of addiction, for me this is about the time i started using the needle and also goes into the emotions and thoughts which accompanied me during this time. At times the world does feel like a prison, and the life your born into is your sentence, but of course thats the way an addict always feels, like everyone else is to blame. So of course personal responsibility couldnt be the answer, (sarcasm), we choose to ignore the obvious until you either A) Let that train of thought become your way of thinking and of life, or B) you admit youve f*** ed up accept it, learn and grow from it and move on. It's what i did, and they say only 2 out of every 100 people who are released from prison will stay out, i say f*** that!! I write about hope and inner strength and faith so other misfits or outsiders out there like me know THEY ARE NOT ALONE.
