Story behind the song
I wrote this somg in the early 90's about a former self-serving friend who used to say he was going to do things, but then would either not commit to it or follow through with it. He'd leave me waiting for him to show up, then I'd call and he'd be home, that sort of thing. So this was my reaction to that.
Lyrics
(Chorus) Oh God, Tell me when the sun goes down Tell me the truth, when will the sun go down? Oh lord, tell me when the sun goes down I need to know when the sun goes down (Verse 1) Woke up this mornin' Had to talk to you You put me off You haven't got the time Pissed me off, I didn't know what to say I don't care to think You're someone I hate (Pre-Chorus) Oh, tell me, tell me, Will it ever end? Tell me, tell me, Will things ever change? Tell me, tell me, Who needs enemies? Tell me, tell me, With friends like that? (Chorus) (Verse 2) I want to tell you About my day, Gave you a number, You said you'd call Pissed me off, I didn't know what to do You left me waiting here On needles and pins (Pre-Chorus) (Bridge) These days I just don't ask too much, The consensus is that most don't care, It's too bad 'Cause many will miss out on The prize of sharing, And sharing alike Copyright 2004 Rick Torres
