Story behind the song
I wrote these lyrics on a Greyhound Bus back to New York City. I made a beat on Garage Band and sang the first two verses into it; it's incomplete, but I like it.
Lyrics
Sometimes I think that I'm insane,
Sometimes I feel like life is one big mind game,
What can I gain from all the pain?
Can't find a reason to keep going
On, like the speed of sound,
Don't look at me unless you wanna be a rebound,
Can't compare to the love I've found,
Confusing; caring for someone who's never around.
Sometimes I think that I'm insane,
Sometimes I feel like life is one big mind game,
There's no contentment to regain,
I overcame the resentment I had in my
Heart's skippin' beats like my blood vessels ran outta batteries
Hard to compete; all their flatterys don't matter, we had
Love so strong it began to become inhumane
(Main)ly, I don't cherish the unknown anymore
To painful to remember all the clothes that were thrown to the floor
The last night I clutched the body I have loved so much
Sometimes I think that I'm insane,
Sometimes I feel like life is one big mind game,
I can't explain what's in my brain,
I entertain you but I won't remain in your
Heart's beatin' three times a second,
You beckoned, I was on a plane
Distance impeding the decadence,
Your kiss becoming harder and harder to obtain
And then your number doesn't come up on my phone anymore
It's the first time since that summer three years ago,
I've been alone:
Set free from a love that I haven't outgrown.
