A native of Israel, Montreal-based composer Eldad Tsabary (1969) writes chamber, orchestral, electro-acoustic, and experimental-ambient music with special interest in trombone and guitar. Recent Performances of his music include Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, The Synthese 2003 festival (Bourges, France), The Electric Rainbow Coalition Festival 2003 (Hanover, New Hampshire), the international electro-acoustic music festival "Primavera en la Habana 2004" (Cuba), Music Under Construction (New York City), the Under St. Marks Theatre (NYC), Stanford University’s CCRMA, the "Most Significant Bytes 2004" Concert at the Mount Union College (Alliance, Ohio), CUNY's Elebash Hall, Brooklyn College, The Bucarest National University of Music (Romania), "New Music Days" festival (Bilgi University, Istanbul), and Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel) collaborating with an array of musicians such as the Bulgarian Philharmonic, conductor Robert Ian Winstin, award-winning trombonist Haim Avitsur, the Cygnus Ensemble, and composer Robert Cuckson. Mr. Tsabary's piece June 5th, 1973 was recently released on the CD Masterworks of the New Era Vol. 1 and is currently available in stores. In the near future, Mr. Tsabary's music is expected to be published by Editions-BIM and released on the Capstone Records label. Eldad received his education at CUNY's Graduate School and University Center doctoral program, the Mannes College of Music, Musitechnic (Montreal) and the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel. He studied composition under David Loeb, David Del Tredici, David Olan, and Tim Brady and theory under Carl Schachter, Philip Rupprecht, and Philip Lambert. As a flutist, Mr. Tsabary performed and recorded jazz, Brazilian, and folk music with musicians such as British composer Graham Collier, and composer guitarist Hagai Rehavia.
