I am 29 years old and holding, Married, I like to write southern gospel most but mix it up a bit. I write down notes from inspirational Sermons or just something someone said. One of our granddaughters helped with writing the children's songs when she was 7 years old.
Story behind the song
Upset & confused, Jenny ran away. Later, too embarrassed to talk to us, but wanting to come home, she wrote:
"Dear Mom and Dad, please forgive me for being such a burden and please don't hate me. I love you....."
She wasn't doing drugs, drinking or anything like that and she definitely wasn't a burden. We love our children and when they hurt, we hurt. She heard us talking and misunderstood what was said. She packed up one day while we were gone and disappeared. I wrote this song for her, so that she, and other teens, our other children/grandchildren, would know, just because you make mistakes, It doesn't make your parents hate you, but please, don't be afraid to talk about things and don't be too embarrassed to come back home. They love you, no matter what....
