Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Lyrics
Pine Tree Just Over My Dash Copyrighted by: Verne Garrison February 25, 2013, Valley Park, Mo Banjo tuned E, capo 1, Key of: Chorus: Place a pine tree on my headstone, If you can arrange it please As a symbol of all things good For efforts we made to save the trees We turned poor, marginal cropland Back to trees as was meant to be Stopped erosion with waterways between Saving the soil for others don't you see A simple emblem of the lonesome pine Maybe placed just above the "dash" To signify those dreams of yours and mine Becoming memories honed to avoid the flash. [clutched] Chorus again.
