My roots go deep.
I have no fear of storms.
Wooden tentacles absorb
The blood of cops and whores.
Drinking bankers,
Soaked in thieves.
My branches spread 
Across the sky.
A galaxy of leaves.
A knotted fist 
Supports this flower.
Dirt is food
It keeps me strong.
I feel the warmth of
Decomposition.
When the nights are long
And days are stark.
Energy emanates
From my bark.
Dark matter from my holes.
Things live in me.
Milk pale geckos
Blind as moles.
Squirrels and worms
Owls and bees.
Some wild disease
Discolored my limbs.
The fungus grows
Around my crotch.
It's time to plant again.
