Saw a message about safety in a daily devotional. Felt it was worth turning into a Songsermon [TM].
Lyrics
(verse1) You can drive ‘round w/your windows rolled up And avoid all the rough parts of town. You can hire private security to guard your house year ‘round. You can build walls around your home build’em strong & build ‘em tall Electric fences, or big guard dogs, or better yet buy an island away from it all. Whatever you do, keep in mind that real security always starts w/God. (chorus 1) You can do things to protect you Nothing wrong w/that at all. But safety is not the absence of danger. Safety is the presence of God. (verse 2) People in the Old Testament they built walls big and stout. The walls went all around the city to keep the enemy out. But a wall is not the same as God nor could it ever be Putting a wall around yourself is just not a guarantee. The only time people are really safe is when their security starts w/God. (chorus 2) You can do things to protect you Nothing wrong w/that at all. But safety is not the absence of danger. Safety is the presence of God.
