Story behind the song
This song like the I'll see you in Heaven was written about my Grandfather. His favorite time of the year was Christmas and we would all get together Christmas Eve at his house and celebrate. When he Died in June of 1994 Christmas Eve became a Sad time a time when I missed him the most so I wrote this song to describe how i felt in hopes that if there is anyone else that feels the same can maybe find some healing just knowing they are not alone
Lyrics
Christmas Eve Verse I On the night before Christmas no joy filled the air Another cry to the wind for the one who's not there You left a void on Christmas Eve A question of sorrow why did you leave Pre Chorus 1 Can you show me a sign, can you ease my pain Chorus Without you here the tears roll down my face Without you near Christmas seems so out of place It's not the same without you here with me. Verse 2 So hang up the misltoe and decorate the tree The happiness is all around but it's not with me Christmas lights are flashing, Everyone is in good cheer I long to feel the laughter, I wish that you were here PreChorus 2 Can you help me smile, Can you ease my pain Chorus Solo Bridge And if there was a Santa Claus I'd ask him to bring you home But till that day I'm sad to say on Christmas Eve I'll be alone Ending On the night before Christmas no joy filled the air Another cry to the wind for the one who's not there
