Wine In A Box
Comment Share
Done for a songwriting exercise. SSG Year 11 Week 3. Write a song about a drink. It didn't have to be alcoholic, but this one is. No surprise that it ended up as a drinking song.

Story behind the song
I like Almaden cabernet and sometimes chardonnay from a box. Acceptable wines for a daily glass or two. Some of the lyrics came directly from the box.
Lyrics
verse: Open the spout and watch it splash Some on the floor and most in the glass. Wipe it off the counter. There's always one more drop When your serving wine in a box. chorus: Wine in a box. Let's clink our glasses To wine in a box. The drink for the masses verse: No foil to cut. No need for a corkscrew. Drink it all or just a glass or two. Each box is five liters. Take what you want. Cabernet, chardonnay or sweet moscato. chorus verse: It's not bottled or tastefully labeled, Just vinted and packed, vacuum sealed for your table. No need to find room on your wine rack. Keep it in the pantry. It can be stacked. chorus instr verse: There's no year stamped. Doesn't claim to be aged. Don't expect complexity. It's this year's vintage. The only wine with an expiration date. It might keep longer if you refrigerate. chorus verse: No fancy wine notes to deceive. Drink it now. Don't pour and wait for it to breathe. There's no vanilla, berry, plum or oak. It only claims to be "rich and bold." chorus instr
