Uptempo. Key sounds are distortion guitars. Starts off 'heavy' in music and message, but around 1:00 it starts turning jubilant. The "Nineveh nightmare" is a blend of two verses from the Book of Nahum. See "About the song" for more info

Soloist. Songwriter/singer. ASCAP member. A NICE WITNESS FOR CHRIST There is an extensive interview of me done by Scott Crawford, at . Do not let the site name alarm you. It is an "adult-themed music and entertainment" site. It is not a porn site, and you will not get tagged for spam if you go there. Scott is a journalist of integrity, who asked pertinent and penetrating questions, then printed my answers verbatim. Both God and His son received much attention in the interview. REVIEWS: "Fancy keyboard playing is the backdrop for this positive and upbeat collection. Hackley's vocals are reminiscent of Burl Ives." Review by Brent Castillo, The Wichita Eagle, March 5, 2005. "world's wimpiest Christian rocker". Brother Russell Podcast; : INFLUENCES (a very lengthy list, ending with...) "and of course, Richard Hackley." "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live.";

Story behind the song
I saw a Facebook post about praying not just to God, but to God who is "for us". Re: NINEVEH NIGHTMARE: Nahum 3:1 (note from Bullinger's Companion Bible) "Captive princes were exposed to public contumely in cages..." Nahum 2:13 “I am against you [Nineveh],” declares the LORD Almighty.
Lyrics
(v.1) Last night I had a horrible dream. I'd call it the 'Nineveh nightmare'. I was captured by an enemy, locked in a cage in the middle of the public square. Hatred, insults, threats on my life, came at me day and night. And, yes, it took its toll. I lost my will to fight. (v.2) My nightmare then turned even worse. My heart broke in two. When the Lord said to me, "I am against you." HUH? That big lie woke me up. I slapped that dream up the side of the head. No nightmare will steal from me what God has already said. (chorus) GOD: I am for you. I am for you. ME: You are for me, Lord. (bridge) When God says He's "for us," well, sure, that cheers us on. It also means He'll be involved to help us get things done. (chorus) GOD: I am for you. I am for you. ME: You are for me.
