Story behind the song
The whole story in the song really happened. My little daughter at the age of three, really asked me these questions (she's 26 at the time of this upload).
Lyrics
He's Building Mansions Dan Adkins Chorus He's building mansions On Hallelujah Square Beautiful mansions That He said He'd prepare Not a cabin in Glory But a mansion so fine He's building mansions And one of them's mine! Verse 1 My little girl asked me "How big is that heavenly city Where we'll live someday?" She wondered if there would be dollies and puppies And parks for little children to play I said, "I don't know 'bout the dollies and puppies Or parks in that city so fair." But, then she said, "Daddy, I also was wondering What Jesus is doing up there Chorus He's building mansions On Hallelujah Square Beautiful mansions That He said He'd prepare Not a cabin in Glory But a mansion so fine He's building mansions And one of them's mine! Verse 2 Have you ever stopped to think How He created this whole world In six little days? And how He's been working For two thousand years Since He went to prepare us a place When I look at the meadows, The mountains and valleys This world in its beauty sublime I just can't imagine the beauties of heaven But, Thank God I know they're all mine Chorus He's building mansions On Hallelujah Square Beautiful mansions That He said He'd prepare Not a cabin in Glory But a mansion so fine He's building mansions And one of them's mine!
