The Pleasure of My Company
SSG assignment, about a solitary profession
This is no ordinary housewife! I've been playing guitar since age 12(sorry, won't say how long ago that was!)and have been writing songs for about as long. It's only been for the last 5 years that I've actually been sharing them with people.
Story behind the song
On the other end of the line with a phone sex operator.
Lyrics
When it’s late, I sit with all the lights out
The TV flickers, makes shadows on the walls
Pretty soon, they’ll start dialing my number
All it takes is a credit card to call
In the dark, the glowing ember of my cigarette
Reminds me of someone from long ago
But for now, I’ll keep smoking , I just can’t quit yet
It keeps my voice nice and sexy and low.
So c’mon baby, tell your mamma what you want hear
You can tell me secrets, don’t worry darling, have no fear
C’mon honey, just keep talking the first minutes’ free
All it takes is money, for the pleasure of my company.
What do you look like, I bet that the ladies all say you’re fine
You drive me crazy , heavy breathing on the line
What am I wearing? , just close your eyes to see
Keep on talking pretty soon you’ll belong to me.
So c’mon baby, tell your mamma what you want hear
You can tell me secrets, I’ll make your troubles disappear
C’mon honey, just keep talking the first minutes’ free
All it takes is money, for the pleasure of my company.
For the pleasure of my company.
