This song is about a spot in my home town that was run by one of the greatest men in my life. I've had a few great examples in my life but this was the first Black Man in my town to own a business and this song is about his spot.
Lyrics
I know a place and it aint very far
You can be there 10 minutes by car
It's kind a simple aint got no big frills
It's live fun and the people are real
When you walk in it's all laid back
Everyone is walking around
Grab a seat and have a sit down
And listen to the latest sounds
It's a small little place
With a wooden dance floor
The kind you probably
Won't see no more
Down at the spot
You can dance a whole lot
Down at the spot
You can give it all you got, Oh yeah
I'm getting ready
Throwen on my shirt
I'm going there tonight
I'm pulling out my favorite shoes and my favorite tie
I've already polished up my ride
I got it shining with pride
I'm gonna put the moon on the run
Til the morning light
It's a small little place
With a wooden dance floor
The kind you prabably
Won't see anymore
Down at the spot
You can dance a whole lot, yeah
Down at the spot
You can give it all you got, Oh yeah
I met a girl
And she was fine
Good Looking
And just my kind
Her voice was soft
Her smile was sweet
Lips like candy
It made me weak
And when she moved
Out on that dance floor
It made me want her
Even more
it was the end to a
Beatiful night
Dont you know
It was right....
