Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
I wrote this about the disturbing trend of gang related killings taking place in broad daylight, in public places, and how innocent people get caught in the crossfire. ...for Jane
Lyrics
Three months shy of turning 21 you don't care about the future of which there is none just a solitary soldier in your littleman's war in a crowded square out to settle your score then a shot rings out an innocent life is lost why would you think that you wouldn't have to pay the cost? were you high? why'd you have to make her mama cry? did you think you were high and mighty? high and mighty on the streets of the town Now you're livin' your life on a runaway train and that gangsta religion it's eaten' at your brain maybe at one time you could have found some solid ground but now it's too late to turn yourself around so you hide inside your head and shy away from the light and you can't see the sky, don't matter if it's day or of it's night were you high? why'd you have to go and make your mama cry? you thought you were high and mighty high and mighty on the streets of the town you just couldn't lay your burden down high and mighty high and mighty on the streets of the town
