Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states. These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. These are my songs.

Story behind the song
This one probably fell within the first 10 lyrics that I wrote and we liked it enough at the time to have a demo of it made. As I've put the Back Country Connection SoundClick page together, I couldn't help but want to include in with the rest of the songs. Sometimes it's fun to look back...and there's always been something just a little bit catchy to me about this one :-)
Lyrics
Star Stuck Verse 1: I sat down at the bar right next to her And I offered to by her a drink What happened next is still a blur I didn’t even have time to think I only went to the bar lookin’ to be loud I wasn’t out after any romance But the more we talked the more we smiled And then she asked me if I wanted to dance Lift: I got lost in her eyes out on the dance floor While we were movin’ to the beat of the band I’d never even seen that girl before And now her phone number’s in my hand Chorus: I’m in luck, star struck I’m fallin’ head over heels I just met her, I know better But I’m likin’ the way it feels I’m in deep, I can’t sleep I’m havin’ too much fun It shows...and who knows She just might be the one Verse2: My mind keeps goin’ back to last night I can’t get that girl out of my head I try to work with all my might But I keep thinkin’ about her instead Should I call and what should I say My hand trembles when it touches the phone I punch her number up anyway And I wonder if she’s even at home Lift: That pretty girl, she looked so fine Will she remember me at all Then I hear her voice on the line She says I’ve been hopin’ that you’d call Chorus: I’m in luck, star struck I’m fallin’ head over heels I just met her, I know better But I’m likin’ the way it feels I’m in deep, I can’t sleep I’m havin’ too much fun It shows..and who knows She just might be the one “Star Struck” (c) 2008, by W.
