A Ray Bertram, Robert Baitinger, & Chantal Schramm collaboration
wendell ray bertram john
KaBERTRAM!!! ...it's all about the music.
Welcome to KaBertram!!! - an explosion of sound, motion, entertainment, and talented people from all around the world, all making music together. And if KaBertram! was a hurricane, then Ray Bertram would be the eye at the center of the storm. Ray, a life-long "compulsive writer," started writing at a very age and he's never stopped. When Ray turned his writing in the direction of lyrics in 2008, things really started hopping. Working together with good friend and partner, musician/song-writer/producer and creative genius John Surbaugh, Ray co-founded BCC Global: The Back Country Connection, which made it possible for him to take his writing and cover the world with it. Ray has now seen his writing produced into songs in the United States (Tennessee, California, Ohio, North Caroline, Georgia), Sweden, The Netherlands, South Africa, England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and beyond. In 2010, Ray and another one of his frequent partners, Swedish singer/musician/song-writer/producer Anders Larson, were signed by the prominent Swedish promotional house, Hit Works, and in the time since numerous of their songs have been placed under contract and aggressively marketed all around the world. And, to date, Ray's writing has been produced into songs covering many genres, including Pop, Euro-Pop, Folk-Rock, Country, Rock-a-billy, Adult Contemporary, Jass/Swwing, Rap, and more. Ray continues to write and to continually direct his creative energies onward and upward, always striving to reach higher and to move in new directions. Story behind the song
This song has had a fascinating journey. I originally wrote and posted the lyric behind it in February of 2009. My long-time friend and creative partner songwriter/producer Robert Baitinger quickly picked it up and went to work on it Robert liked the song so much that he initially made two versions of it - one as an Adult Contemporary/Pop version and the other more rooted in Europop. The development of both pieces progressed so quickly that Robert was able to have them both completed by the end of February, 2009 - the same month in which I initially posted the lyrics behind the wong. The resulting song(s) were then slotted into our public marketing folder where they sat for 2 years. In 2011, however, Robert began working with the talented German singer Chantal Schramm and, as he began looking for fitting production vehicles, "Please" quickly came to his mind. Robert and Chantal went to work within the song, making changes as needed and raising the song up even higher in the process. I've always loved working with Robert and I quickly came to enjoy working with Chantal, too. And as good as the song was prior to Chantal's involvement, it became better still with all of the talent and the vocals that Chantal contributed. I'll invite you to give "Please" a listen - you'll quite definitely be glad that you did.
Lyrics
"Please" Verse 1: I have to free my mind Let my thoughts escape Because I want to reach A better place I have to go now Please help me move on Before all of my time Is all gone Chorus: Please, help me search Please, help me find A better place For my troubled mind I can’t take much more I’m down on my knees Please help me Help me please Verse 2: How long has it been Since I've had a rest When did I last feel Sleep's soft caress The pain of this life Fills all my days Alone I drift Lost in the haze Chorus: Please, help me search Please, help me find A better place For my troubled mind I can’t take much more I’m down on my knees Please help me Help me please Bridge: Please show me the way Set me free (Set me free) Please show me you care Help me please Chorus: …Help me search …Help me find A better place For my troubled mind I can’t take much more I’m down on my knees Please help me Help me please Chorus: …Help me search …Help me find A better place For my troubled mind I can’t take much more I’m down on my knees Please help me Help me please Outro: Oh please help me Please please help me Please "Please" (c) W.
