Story behind the song
Inspired by our own wasted lives and Phil's brother (now almost 20) who is systematically pissing his life down the toilet.
Lyrics
When I was young I always wasted The chances that life sometimes gave me To elevate my mind to a higher plane Passing on by the breaks they gave me Whittling down the paths before me Burning my bridges 'cos I'm too blind to play I don't mind if you've got better things to do I don't mind if it's something you can't aspire to Take your time it's got nothing to do with love You are mine and it's nothing you can see or touch These days are all the same Sometimes I dream I'll take it all back A different road down a different soundtrack Turning the table expect no surprises today I never dreamt I'd always be here Trying to gain what is lost forever Praying for someone or something to show me the way I don't mind if you've got better things to do I don't mind if it's something you can't aspire to Take your time it's got nothing to do with love You are mine and it's nothing you can see or touch These days are all the same
