I started writing songs at age twelve. The first song I wrote was about a race car and was kind of reminiscent of Jan and Dean although that wasn't what I planned. After that I discovered girls and for the most part that began to dominated the subjects of my songs. Unfortunately I was really never satisfied with my writing so I just kind of stopped. I thought about it but that's about it.
After several years I started writing instrumentals and I wanted to do a big band style instrumental. I got about one minute of the song written and I was kind of excited about how it sounded and thought that it would be so much better if it had words. By the end of the day the song was roughly written and recorded and I still like it.
