Story behind the song
This song is a mash of two old riffs we had from older days. Another spur of the moment kind of song. The lyrics are a story about someone walking out onto their balcony and throwing themselves off. When i lived at my last place we had a guy do that on the other side of our building from the 19th floor, so i think it's kind of influenced by that
Lyrics
Step through the door, the night's cold and heartless grasp The din in my ears, a city's ongoing collapse The twinkling lights, so pretty any other night On this night, they seam empty Like the ants on the street, below Feet touch cold concrete, step follows step towards the edge The feeling of misery, comforting now it seems I am only empty, i am only looking down on my demise These final days, they've wasted me I am now hollow and vacant Chorus: Time is wearing on me (oh god if you're there please show me now) Tearing down my resolve (stop me or i end this calamity) The city's response is cold (and the one above is nonexistent) The truth is clear to me now so i, (There's no one there to help me so i,) Stop White knuckle gripping as i ease my leg over the railing This task, unlike the rest of my life, i garauntee i won't be failing Both legs over now, as i lean forward and watch the world rush by This my life, this is my choice These guilty feelings won't haunt me much more I shed a tear, but no one knows The true reasons i have come undone (Chorus) Let Go!
