Being in various pro bands in the '60's Vic got to work with talented people including "The Beatles" and Roger Miller.
He's met many stars including Cash, Or
Jackie and I had collaberated on a song called "Big dreams and cold beer"
She sent me a lyric after that for this song but I took weeks to think up a melody for it. Then it came together all in a day.
Lyrics
Hand-Me-Down John
V
He was the smallest branch on his family tree
Above him were six sisters and big brothers three
He had a room full of toys of the very best stuff
Tonka trucks to Action Heroes, Yeah, he didn't want for much.
Ch.
There were nine soft teddy bears and nine fishin' poles
He had shoes in every color and a big chest full of clothes
They were all a little worn, and just a tad too long ........
Everybody in the town knew of Hand-me-down John
V
Some kids in his fifth grade could be so mean
They often made fun of his oversized jeans
Called him Hand-Me-Down John all the way through the town
Unti the time they went too far and knocked him to the ground

But I guess that those bullies hadn't thought things through
Because that day they did'nt know just what to do
When John's six sisters and big brothers three
Caught them in the act down a dead end street
