rock, 70's and 80's style mostly, along with jazz, surf, and synth-based 'new age' or 'smooth jazz' music. But it's mostly rock.
It's just me, playing my axe and doing vocals and using the computer for MIDI and recording. Honestly. And I sometimes do fun things with my computer to improve it. But I don't 'cheat' like using 'Auto Tune' or anything like that. My older stuff was done 'the hard way' - adding one track at a time until it was 'good enough' and hope that the end mix came out ok. For the most part it did. Eventually I bought 'Cakewalk Music Creator 3' and started experimenting around with it it to get better results., so songs posted since 2010 are using THIS method. Experimenting with theory and style is something I'm into, so expect a lot of different styles here. My preference is Rock with a Jazz influence.

Story behind the song
After seeing 'Rozen Maiden' I learned about a 'shut-in' phenomenon that exists in real life, possibly similar to the protagonist in that series [at least at the beginning]. People literally cut themselves off from the outside world, and family members more or less enable them. The term is 'hikikomori' and it's more common than people might think. But with online access it's VERY tempting to do this, and so I wrote the song about it (from the perspective of a hikikomori as I understand such things). That and I wanted to write a cool song using a Geddy Lee style bassline in a style similar to early 80's Rush. Also the opening sequence originally sounded too much like 'Boys of Summer' even though I didn't realize it when I fist came up with it - only later did I realize it needed to be 'adjusted' so it wasn't a ripoff. And now I have a riff that I intend to re-use in other songs as well, at some point in the future.
Lyrics
Standing in the center of an ordinary life is just pitiful... pitiful... Living in my fantasies inside my sanctuary I'm most comfortable... comfortable... I have everything that I need on my computer I have my online... personality Existing in the middle of a mountain of unnecessary stressful times.. unhappy times... Imagination beckons me to worlds of my own making and I'm happy there... inside my mind... I have everything that I need on my computer I have my online... communication Standing in the center of an ordinary life is just pitiful... pitiful... So why can't I just live my life inside my sanctuary in my fantasies,,, fantasies... I have everything that I need on my computer I have my online... reality
