Done as a song writing exercise. SSG Y10 W32. The idea was to use unusual chords to write a song that doesn't sound like other songs you've written. That ended up being the subject of my lyrics too.
verse:
Sometimes a song comes to me
In the middle of the night.
So I get up early
And discover I can't write.
verse:
An idea's where it begins.
I wish that's all it took.
A key where I can play and sing
And, oh, yeah, I need a hook.
chorus:
Oh no. Oh no.
I think I've heard this song before.
Oh no. Oh no.
I'd better use a different chord.
verse:
I need words that rhyme,
But not too well.
And then choose the timing
And a tune that will sell.
chorus
verse:
Some strums or picking
That won't sound the same
As other songs I've written.
And I need a name.
chorus
verse:
Does anybody care
What I have to say?
If I put it out there
No one will listen anyway.
