Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Fraser Colorado and Forty Three Below Copyright by: Verne Garrison May 24, 2012, Valley Park, MO Banjo tuned E, Capo 1 Key of: E E A Fraser Colorado and 43 below E Sawlogs frozen to the ground B Each step sound like shotguns in the snow E No other people are around Fifteen minutes outside, Then Forty-five in Mountain air would freeze your hide Warm up, then outside again Who the hell is the boss That dreamed up this miserable play They should get the toss We won't live another day That was fifty-five years ago Working on log-grade lumber recovery stint If had knew what I now know There's no way I would have went Trying to roll logs froze to the ground Each step, a shot-gun sound Guessing lumber recovery at 43 below I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go
