Howdy Jamey,
Definitely, you capture that haunting feeling of being kept away from where you'd rather be....back home with loved ones! That's an interesting lyrical twist, using locations and opposing with a location in the heart.....where your true nature desires to be......Most Excellent, "on I love you!"!!!! Mighty fine pickin' and singin' too, Jamey!!!!! It seems being on the road is nearly as bad as being trapped in the millitary to the degree of being far away from those you love!!!!! I don't think that I'd like either of those choices......there has to be that hollowness of being apart, true lonliness and as I said you truly capture that mood in this song. I also note that you lyrically capture some mighty interesting locations that you must have seen, New York, the Telluride, etc. Truly, there's no place like Home!!!!!
Respectfully...my friend,
Wade
