Haze "Hood Blues" Ak HT Haze (Hassan A. Wells) born in Los Angeles, CA on September 2, third brother in a click of four. While growing up in South Central, Haze was deeply exposed to the hard life at a young age. Motel/ basement living, substance addicted home environment and hustling to the wee hours of the morning were common life for this youngster. Learning early that his only sanity from the streets was music, he humbled himself within it. Growing up listening to the oldies (Isley’s, Temps, Four Tops, ect. ) was that needed release from life’s ups and downs. The early high school years, at Hamilton in West Los Angeles is where Haze started putting the pen to the paper. Surrounded by the ghetto relics of Urban life in the Mar Vista garden Projects made the dream of money / happiness and pain / tears easy to write about. By his junior year he formed a group with some neighborhood homies and recorded a couple of songs. The group went on to win a couple of talent showcases and he gained the acceptance of his peers and some independent labels. Although the group was highly successful it dismantled the following year due to member family and personal problems, but that did not stop the writing the preparation and hunger. After graduation distraught with the groups break up, his dreams growing dim and his own family problems Haze had to pick between the streets and an uncertain future. He weighed his options and decided to join the Army. In the army he found his passion again with a click that shared the same ambition ultimately forming U.N.I. After the army he returned to the California streets he so tried to get away from but this time returning with a purpose and a plan. Embracing the streets with conviction and experience. With his New homies in hand, heat in the lungs and a hunger that lions only dream about, went on to become one of the founders of Uproot Entertainment and never looked back.
