Heidi Wolfson is a Philadelphia singer-songwriter. In her fourth decade of making music, Heidi is taking a slightly softer approach... but her music remains vocally interesting and the lyrics are definitely worth checking out. If you like Patti Smith, you will probably like Heidi. Have fun and thanks for listening.

Story behind the song
I was really still figuring love out (who isn't)? While I was young to be in a live-together committed relationship, I was still haunted by my first love. I was beginning to understand that the pain from that would never go quite away. The realization that people we let in never leave us, was profound for me. This notion appears in many of my songs, over the decades, and is still a theme in my music. While I never performed this song, I almost performed it once. Rob and I were supposed to be a part of a music marathon on channel 12 (pbs television). I was so excited when I learned that I received this opportunity. I was told I could play one song. For some reason I picked this one, and asked Rob to accompany me on violin. We went to the studio and found that there were dozens of acts, all waiting to go on. When it was our turn, we played this song, but never got past the introduction. Our 30 seconds was up. I never even got to sing. Therefore, the song was never actually performed.
Lyrics
Time (1978) E F E F I.... Remember it all when I remember you I.... See nothing at all when I remember you Everything around me begins to fall off and disassemble Everyone around me begins to block off and resemble you G Am G Am In my mind its in my mind You have found a home there You come in and pull up a chair there From time to time to time to time to time You have stolen my time There are sounds in my head Standing straight up at attention for you There's a pillow on my bed Stuck with indentations of you There are sirens and loud screams and gunshots and blood at the thought of you There's an aftermath and bad dreams As I drag through the mud to remember you In my mind its in my mind You have found a home there You come in and pull up a chair there From time to time to time to time to time You have stolen my time Am E Am E There are smoke signals flying and neon signs Telling you to come on home There are mirrors hanging in the corner of my eye Begging me to leave it alone But I have invested something more precious And it's cutting me to the bone F E F E It's my time My time You have stolen my time You have stolen my time You have stolen my time

I do remember playing this on TV. The late Gene Hart, voice of the Flyers (and dad of singer songwriter Lauren Hart) cut us off, probably needing to go the next fundraising pitch. I don't think they ever used local acts again as I am sure others were really annoyed at being cut off as well.
