Story behind the song
It is difficult to tell the story behind this song without sounding goofy. This song suggests that maybe the "dumb animals" that we come in contact with every day may be something more. . .maybe heaven sent. . . I have had several "animal friends" in my time (I hesitate to call them "pets") who have literally saved my life. I wouldn't have survived the last couple of years of my first marriage if it hadn't been for Jake the Wonder Dog. There was a very special cat who helped me tosurvive the loss of my precious Bekah. Both of these have gone on to other charges. . .guardian angels looking over someone else now. This is another song that has been around for a few years. . .1996 or 1997 I think.
