Soloist. Songwriter/singer. ASCAP member. A NICE WITNESS FOR CHRIST There is an extensive interview of me done by Scott Crawford, at . Do not let the site name alarm you. It is an "adult-themed music and entertainment" site. It is not a porn site, and you will not get tagged for spam if you go there. Scott is a journalist of integrity, who asked pertinent and penetrating questions, then printed my answers verbatim. Both God and His son received much attention in the interview. REVIEWS: "Fancy keyboard playing is the backdrop for this positive and upbeat collection. Hackley's vocals are reminiscent of Burl Ives." Review by Brent Castillo, The Wichita Eagle, March 5, 2005. "world's wimpiest Christian rocker". Brother Russell Podcast; : INFLUENCES (a very lengthy list, ending with...) "and of course, Richard Hackley." "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live.";

Story behind the song
Written regarding the downhill direction of the US Gov't & economy. I knew they'd both been deteriorating for decades. In 1992, it finally concerned me a bit too much. I needed to remind myself ... from where my help really comes. (FYI: Psalm 121 is great regarding God's care.)
Lyrics
v.1 I'd like to thank our government For keeping this nation on its feet. 200 years of guiding our land While others have fallen, we still stand But now we face a new kind of threat Our own reckless spending and gigantic debt. You've pulled is through rough times before But whatever happens, one thing is sure... (chorus) God will be taking care of me anytime anywhere. God will be taking care of me even if you're not there. So don't worry how I'll be if you ever can help me. God will be taking care of me anytime anywhere. v.2 I'd like to thank our dollar bill. You have served your country well. Stable and strong for so long time Now it seems maybe your past your prime. But through the years you kept telling us Over and over that "in God we trust". You seem to know the harm it could do If we put our trust in you. (chorus)
