Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states. These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. These are my songs.

Story behind the song
I wrote this children's lyric in August of 2008. I was very pleased when my good friend musician/songwriter/producer Tony Atkinson (Ireland) picked it up for production. Having had a number of children myself, I can say that the resulting song captures well much of the magical essence of childhood...we hope that you enjoy listening to it :-) Ray Bertram
Lyrics
Get Ready Here I Come Verse 1: Get ready here I come I’m ready to go So much I want to learn So much I want to know I’m gonna do my best I’m really gonna try Because it’s time for me To spread my wings and fly Chorus: Get ready here I come There’s so much I want to do So much I want to see Everything’s brand new And who knows what I’ll be When I’m fin’ly done Don’t me back Get ready here I come Verse 2: I’m learning so much And making new friends It’s a big adventure The excitement never ends I’m glad I’m here On a brand new day So stand by me And show me the way Chorus: Get ready here I come There’s so much I want to do So much I want to see Everything’s brand new And who knows what I’ll be When I’m fin’ly done Don’t hold me back Get ready here I come “Get Ready Here I Come” (c) 2008, by W.
