Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states. These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. These are my songs.

Story behind the song
Every time I share a production that I've worked with Glenn Spayth (Tennessee, U.S.A.) I have to say the exact same thing - I love working with Glenn Spayth :-) Glenn is a singer/musician/producer and songwriter extroadinaire that makes everything look easy. And like "How I Look In Your Eyes" (also listed on this site), "My Mind Goes Back To Her" is a tribute to my wife and also one of my earliest productions. It's a very special song to me and I hope that you enjoy getting to listen to it. Ray Bertram
Lyrics
My Mind Goes Back To Her Verse 1: I’m sittin’ in a meeting Folks at work are all around I try to take some notes ...Write what’s important down I try to stay focussed But my thoughts are a blur And ev’ry time they drift off My mind goes back to her Chorus: My mind goes back to her And how she said goodbye She was standing on the porch A look of love in her eye She smiled as she waved Then she blew me a kiss And I knew as I left It don’t get better than this Now I’m sittin’ here at work But every time I try to stir My thoughts drift off again And my mind goes back to her Verse 2: She was standing there so pretty In the early morning sun Now I try so hard to work But I can’t get nothin’ done My boss asks me if I’m busy I just smile and say, “Yes, sir” Then my thoughts drift off again And my mind goes back to her Chorus: My mind goes back to her And how she said goodbye She was standing on the porch A look of love in her eye She smiled as she waved Then she blew me a kiss And I knew as I left It don’t get better than this Now I’m sittin’ here at work But every time I try to stir My thoughts drift off again And my mind goes back to her “My Mind Goes Back To Her” (c) 2008 W.
