A Ray Bertram, Robert Baitinger, LeeAndrew Bray, and Mick Hutchings collaborative production
Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states.
These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled.
These are my songs.
Story behind the song
I initially wrote the core lyric behind this production in February of 2010 and singer/songwriter/musician/producer LeeAndrew Bray (George, U.S.A.) quickly voiced an interest in working the piece with me. At the time, LeeAndrew was serving in the U.S. Military and was on active duty in an Iraqi combat zone, however, and he did not have access to his regular studio or equipment. We decided to compensate for this by inviting my good friend, songwriter/producer Robert Baitinger (Germany) into the project. Robert was happy to add his talents and equipment to the developing production and together he and decided to invite another friend, musician/producer Mick Hutchings (London, England) into the project - thus making "In The Blink Of An Eye" another global production project. With Robert working as lead producer, LeeAndrew piloting the project from Iraq, and Mick making his musical contributions from England, the project took off and we had the completed demo that you see here completed by May, 2010. This project has always stood out to me for a number of reasons - one of the primary ones being that LeeAndrew Bray's vocals were actually recorded live from an active Iraqi combat zone...to me, that simply adds all the more depth to the meaning behind the song and makes it all the more real in ways simply too strong to be denied. So much of life happens in the blink of an eye - it comes and it goes and seldom comes back around again. Family, children, friends, today in general...make the most of it now and appreciate what's important to you while the day is still yours to do so. And we hope that you enjoy our song, "In The Blink Of An Eye." Of all of the songs and productions that I've ever been involved in, this is one of my own personal favorites :-)

Lyrics
In The Blink Of An Eye
Verse 1:
In the blink of an eye
The world spins around
The sun comes up
And goes back down
We win, we lose
We laugh and cry
And it all happens to us
In the blink of an eye
Verse 2:
Life starts out
Time moves so slow
Then it’s all gone
Before we know
We’re all born
We live, we die
And all of it happens to us
In the blink of an eye
Verse 3:
We make our plans
Dream all our dreams
Try an’ figure out
Everything
While our days just
Sail right on by
And all of it happens to us
In the blink of an eye
Bridge:
It all goes by so much
Faster than you think
All that you have to do
Is blink…just blink
Verse 4:
Funny how life happens
Time moves so slow
Then it’s all gone
Before we know
We’re all born
We live, we die
And it all happens to us
In the blink of an eye
