Story behind the song
Then-Senator Edwards was chided for his vanity and boyish good looks. It was discovered that his haircuts cost $400 each, but he did not personally pay for them. They were paid for from his campaign funds. He was since disgraced by a scandalous affair while his wife was dying of breast cancer. He had a child by his mistress, but paid a male staffer to claim paternity. Later, he admitted that the child was his. Sheesh! ... UPDATE 02 May 2012 -- Currently on trial for violations of campaign finance laws, lying, and being a general scumbag.
