EMBARKING INTO THE UNKNOWN

Tones of hope and courage struggle with desperation and anxiety in this piece, set during the height of the Irish Potato Famine. Come on a journey with the resilience of the human spirit, as the Irish find their way "home".

ELEKTRIKA creates very unusual and unique electronic music, full of hand crafted sounds. No melody looping here. All done by hand on a keyboard, with precision
At all times from scratch, write and play it on a synth/midi-keyboard connected to a PC or a simple synth set to piano or string-like sound for checking melody, harmonies and such. I I know my mastering sucks, but I do not consider myself a sound engineer, nor do I want to become one. I enjoy making up songs -- I'm a composer, at best. , but prefer playing each piece of music with my own ten fingers on the keyboard. This of course requires lowering the recording speed for some tracks, well, who can play 9 to 10 keys per second as is necessary for some tunes? :-) (Feb 18 2004), so I'd most appreciate if you could listen to my uploads and

Lyrics
Please allow me to quote William Troniak here: "This immediately said "Irish" to me. The imagery that immediately popped up in my mind is that of an irish family during the height of the potato famine in Ireland. Very desperate times for the celts, and this music of yours filled me with a sense of urgency, as if these people were sad that they had to leave their homeland due to their destitute state; but even though they are sad, they are also very anxious and frightened because they will be embarking into the unknown by travelling to New York harbour in the hold of a cargo ship so that they can find a new life in the American colonies..." After adding the military snare roll and canon shot as percussives, I immediately had to think of these guys marching into war, and finally fighting in the Civil War.
