I am not a performer, I am a songwriter. I am not a good singer and I learn to play instruments just well enough to record the songs I write. But I enjoy the craft of songwriting and the recording process. I write simple songs. I like writing story songs. Feedback is always welcomed. Hope you enjoy something here.

Story behind the song
I had this neat little rif. I worked with it for several weeks. Then I came up with the first two lines. That was it. Nothing else. A few more weeks went by. Then on one of my many trips I was sitting at the bar (where else) and got to thinking about it. I wrote the rest of the song on a bar napkin. I am not sure where it came from. The whole song feeds off the first two lines.
Lyrics
Gone I woke up this morning only to find you were gone I sit here and wonder what I did to make you move on What did I do What did I say I don’t understand Why you treat me this way Has your love so faded You just could not stay Did you know my love for you Grew stronger every day What will I do Where will I go Without you here I just don’t know (Instrumental break) I lay here knowing That you will not return Deep in my heart For you I will always yearn Always a part Never the same Is this how you win This lovers game © 2004 Danny Liggett
