Heidi Wolfson is a Philadelphia singer-songwriter. In her fourth decade of making music, Heidi is taking a slightly softer approach... but her music remains vocally interesting and the lyrics are definitely worth checking out. If you like Patti Smith, you will probably like Heidi. Have fun and thanks for listening.

Story behind the song
No particular story behind the song. 1977 was probably the year that I lived in the most places. I was between high school and college, moving around a lot, and feeling a little lost.
Lyrics
BOXCAR (1977) I remember laughing in the breeze and the summer sun I remember rolling in the leaves and really knowing fun I remember feeling so young I remember hoping my time would come I remember finding the streets and shouting out my name I remember looking so still, and trembling just the same I remember knowing where everyone was coming from They would never find me, I would surely run I remember feeling so strong and young I remember hoping my time would come Oh Mama, why did I always run away from you? Oh Everyone I love, why am I always so afraid of you? Fly away, I think I'll fly away on a lonely flight And jump from boxcar to boxcar in the night The wind lays out my direction, sheltering me from fright Why should I care if I die on the road You know the road it feels so right Live like a shadow, hide from light Live like a shadow, hide from light Hide from light Hide from light
