A parody of Duran, Duran's Ordinary World
I've been creating all kinds of songs for over 30 years, but I never sell any of them. I try to give them away to charities that have musician spokespeople, but
Story behind the song
I was getting kind of tired of writing funny songs, but parts of this one just kept popping up in my mind, until I finally just finished it up.
Lyrics
Caved into the urge to write a parody, anew,
Thought I'd given up on comedy,
I make fun of people, places, & the things they do,
Hell, I even take some shots at me!
What's going on inside my brain?,
Crazy as a loon,
Why can't I just stop thinking about this tune?.
Howl at the moon....
But I won't try to write today,
There's a karaoke girl,
Sometimes I wine & dine,
And if I can't come out & play,
With my karaoke girl,
I just might lose my mind.
Clashing with the present tense, what happened yesterday,
Snidely thinking I'm so smart,
Trying not to use the word for gasses in your pants,
I'm getting this down to an art.
There, I finally did it now,
Took me all dang day,
Didn't use the "f" word when I had the chance,
It's flatulence....
But I won't take a holiday,
From my karaoke girl,
So I may just have to write,
If I do everything her way,
For my karaoke girl,
I might get some sleep tonight.
Capers I've been privy to brought laughter to my peeps,
Beer today, 'til dawn tomorrow,
Had nothing to lose, so bagged some chick between the sheets,
Her vocal range is rather narrow....
But I won't ever rue the day,
That my karaoke girl,
Latched herself on my behind,
So now I marvel at the way,
That my karaoke girl,
Treated me so very kind.
Karaoke giiiiiiiiiiirl, gave me a whirl!
Treated me so very kind.
