Story behind the song

First ever attempt at a gospel song... written way back in the early 70's when I was a teenager and before I even started regularly being involved with church. The original lyrics were 'Thank the Lord for birds and flowers, thank the Lord for bees and tress' .... so I guess it was time for an update. 
 
Yes... it's a little tongue in cheek, but it's all about the vibe really. That.. and showing that white guys really struggle to sing black gospel!I would love to hear this done by a genuine urban gospel church!
