Heidi Wolfson is a Philadelphia singer-songwriter. In her fourth decade of making music, Heidi is taking a slightly softer approach... but her music remains vocally interesting and the lyrics are definitely worth checking out. If you like Patti Smith, you will probably like Heidi. Have fun and thanks for listening.

Story behind the song
Yes! The true Heidi emerges. This is the first song that sounds like me. It is obvious to me that when I wrote this, I had just heard the album "Horses" for the first time. In this song, I am coming into my own both musically and lyrically. The music explores dynamics in rhythm and volume that eventually became a trademark for me. The lyrics explore themes of sexuality and identity, which also became a trademark for me. Although I wrote the song in 1976, it was not recorded until 1995. I don't know why I ignored this song for almost 20 years. It was a very important song for me. Although it was perfect for a rock band, I never brought it to "Heidi and the Wolf". In this studio version, Art Cohen makes the song come alive.

TRIES BIES (1976) (First written in 1976- Lyrics edited and augmented in 1995. These are the final lyrics) Am G D C Am Tries, bies All a plot solely devised As far as purpose goes To lead us to the belief Of the ultimate excitement Tries, bies Exquisite lies I'm a woman made from man Since time began Am G D Am G Took a rib from Adam Who stole a soul from Eve Believe, believe Believe, believe Tries bies Oh those pretty girl thighs My beauty escaping in little pieces Coming back to me in different releases Tires Bies We multiply And I jump into the river of your eyes DNA swimming in every sigh Boys and girls are the very same thing Everybody’s velevet when it comes to skin Believe, Believe Tries Bies I know you try and all sex is subject to the tide Just below the skin where blood levels rise Tries Bies Everybody dies Sometimes all I see is eyes Choice is always mired in compromise Soulful pleasure gutful pain Overlapping universes remain remain Believe Believe More pleasure in dreams than reality can conceive More pleasure n dreams believe, believe Believe Believe Ah….. hah There’s more pleasure in dreams Ah hah There’s more pleasure in dreams Tries bies pretty girl thighs, all sex is a compromise Everyone you know is born in lies And everybody has the same eyes Lies grow Look at the show Give me a kiss you b*** Uh, oh…… There goes the switch? Uh huh there is more pleasure in dreams Uh huh there is more pleasure in dreams Believe believe Believe believe

Really cool song. Unique lyrics and catchy melody. Vocal delivery is one of my favorites of yours all time. Mystifying.
