Story behind the song
Written and demo'ed at Parlor Studios on Music Row in Nashville TN, the song is about a hunting camp near McAlevy's Fort, PA, where John spent several enjoyable days. He was struck by the camaraderie and male-bonding that will be missed as hunting camps wane in popularity, and wrote the song with longtime friend, Doug Forshey, an accomplished Nashville songwriter.
