Story behind the song
I went through the hardest time in my life and found myself in a deep dark pit. In that place you cant see nothing, like Isa 50, you are tempted to make your own light whether with drugs, alcohol, relationships whateva works at the time but the only way out of the pit is to wait on the Lord, thats what I did, and after 2 yrs of waiting he rescued me, this song is about his redeeming nature and His great love for his children. He did'nt demand I get it together I crawl out, I could'nt, you cant crawl out of the mire its too deep. No, He got down into the dirt and reached his hands to me and pulled me out, set me on a spacious rock and gave me a new song to sing, that I would even go on from that day to sing praises to Him for the pit, cuz the pit I was sin actually saved my life, it was His mercy that held me there, like Johah in the belly of the whale, He did'nt give up on Jonah, He hasn't given up on me and He wont give up on you.
