We are a group of people who enjoy songwriting and then recording the songs. We do it for fun.
The Overtone Gang is a group of people who enjoy songwriting and then recording the songs. The structure of the gang is flexible and people may participate on one CD and not on another. It's their choice. Each person is allowed to pursue their own projects and come back to join the gang. Egos get in the way of music so we try hard to eliminate the reasons for it. 7 different people have been involved in the first three CDs. The Cycle of Life CD included a lot more people (16 in total). Our CD "Relations" had only four people. On our latest CD, Earth, there were three of us, Melanie Broussard, Buddy Trotter and Danny Liggett. The gang has written and recorded songs for 8 CDs. These were recorded by ourselves (no record deal). We duplicate our own CDs, design and print out the booklet and put the jewel case together. We do it for fun.

Story behind the song
Have you ever noticed that trouble seems to follow you. We noticed that too. Thanks to Jerry Campbell for the lead guitar.
Lyrics
Dark clouds are forming, past the ridge, over the hill It’s gone from a hot one, now it’s almost a chill The wind is swirling, blowin’ things around The leaves in the trees make a rustling sound I’m standin’ and lookin’, tryin’ hard to see Why does this storm seem to be chasin’ me I’m always hidin’, seeking shelter in fear Seems to be pretty weather everywhere but here Why am I always finding myself Directly in the path of the storm? Just tryin’ to live my life, not hurtin’ no one Don’t mean nobody no harm, but it’s hard to see the sun The weather gets cloudy, I find a place to hide The storm will find me, and I’ll hang on for the ride Why am I always finding myself Directly in the path of the storm? After the storm, I can hope for a rainbow That will show the path I should follow But for now, I find myself Directly in the path of the storm
