Story behind the song
Written by Ashley Woodward with the idea of a Pink Floyd-esque saxophone solo running through the middle, and moody tremolo guitar giving it a sombre, harrowing mood. After some jamming with Savvas Michael, a bridge was formed connecting all sections of the track with seemlessness flow.It was recorded to 2 inch tape to give that saturated sound and classical guitar was added as a sophisticated upgrade. Finally mixed by Kennie Takahashi who gave the track its piece de resistance added space and texture not common in mixes nowadays. There is a number of tracks out there that throw too much at you; however To kill a sunrise a song with breadth and depth.
Lyrics
Don't take me home This night must last me a lifetime (of love) And the wind it whispers round me All the things you do astound me and the wind it whispers round until it takes me down Please take me home This night has cost me a lifetime (of love)
