Story behind the song
While attending my Grandmothers funeral, my mother and her siblings chose to play Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child" I had uesd it in a song I did entitled "Homeless in America." I never forgot the stirring feeling of lost love in the vocals from Lady Day. I wanted to show her some love too. HipHop must continue to bring the past back into focus for the new heads. PEACE! JX
