Story behind the song
Hi. My name is Freddie Brown. I am a musician, songwriter, and country entertainer in Branson, MO and Nashville, Tn. I was involved in a Van accident in Murfreesboro, Tn. off of East Clark Street and Highland Rd. I had went out to a country night club in east Nashville to listen to a country band and have some fun. I have recently been separated from my wife of 18 years and have been in a pretty depressed state of mind for a couple of months and thought this was a good way to let off some anxiety. I arrived at the club and immediately began drinking thinking that this would ease my separation blues. I met the DJ at the club that night who said he would play some of my original music for the people to dance to. I was having a real good time because the people on the dance floor were looking like they were really enjoying dancing to my songs, but at the same time I was getting more and more intoxicated. I left the club and was driving back home to Murfreesboro. I almost made it to my apartment that I was living in. I was about a half a mile away when suddenly I passed out in the drivers seat of my van. When I passed out my foot laid down on the accelerator pedal. At the time I was going at about 60 miles an hour. I then swerved to the right and hit a telephone pole dead center in the front of my van. The telephone pole had a transformer on it with hot wires. When I hit the pole, the hot wires came off the transformer and laid on my van. I had also knocked down a mail box with a solid rock foundation. When I hit the telephone pole, the impact instantly woke me up and all I was thinking was to get out of the van ASAP. I managed to get the driver's door open and headed for the street on the right of me. As I reached the street I passed out on the ground. I then awoke and there was a young man there holding my hand telling me I was going to be alright and the ambulance was on the way. The young man said his name was Bobby and called me by my name "Freddie" and that he would be there with me and not to worry. I was bleeding from my head wounds at that time pretty bad and passed out again. I then woke up again at the ER in Murfreesboro Tn. hospital. I could still here Bobby's voice in the ER emergency room telling me that I was going to be OK and not to worry. I was there at the emergency room for about 5 hours. The doctors and nurses took X-rays and ran tests to see if I was OK. To make a long story short, I was found not to have any broken bones but just bruised up pretty bad. When I had woke up, Bobby was not present . I was released from the ER and left. Sunday afternoon I phoned the ER in Murfreesboro and wanted to get the phone number of the nice man named Bobby who was there for me through the entire crisis. I was told by the staff there that there was no one with me through the entire wreck ordeal or at the ER when I was there. I told the lady that I was sure that there was a young man by the name of Bobby that was with me at the time of the accident. She told me there was no one by that name on the incident report and would be if there was actually someone there. Now, I am sending you a photo of my old Chrysler van that I wrecked. When I went to the Tow place to get my things out of my van, I was in shock to see what I had climbed out of that early Sunday morning. The Tow driver told me that he did not understand how I could be walking and talking to him with the looks of the wrecked Van. He told me he had seen cars with much less damage where people had died. I was amazed that I was alive and breathing when I saw my van. The police later informed me that if I would have touched anything metal on my van that I would have been instantly electrocuted from the transformer wires that was touching my van. As I was laying on the ground looking up at the man by the name of "Bobby", I was asking the Lord to please help me and praying for him to take me to heaven for I had really thought I was dying. I lay th
