It was a cold gray morning in Boston. Monochromes were colliding in the canvas sky. Somewhere off in the distance a dog barked. Jimmy blinked and suddenly felt a strange itching sensation in his crotch. Immediately the ground in front of him fissured and from whence the ground once was a portal through all time and space openeth. Jimmy bucked and reared but to no avail, the concrete beneath him shattered and he was sent hurtling into the portal. When he awoke he was surrounded by powerful wizards whom, he was quick to recognize, had obviously figured out the secrets of time and space. They explained to Jimmy that they were recruiting him for their side project, SECOND FLOOR EAST. Their main gig was being God, but they wanted to experiment in something with a little less keyboard. Jimmy accepted, for a price. His immortal soul was conjured forth, manifested itself into a jar of mayonnaise with laser breath, and then cryogenically frozen...in time and space. Jimmy later explained to the wizards that his name was Brian and he played guitar.

Story behind the song
This song came to us while we were in the shower...together.
Lyrics
Here in New England it is always raining Drowning canvas skies in gray as monochromes collide Here in the city I am always searching for a smile to inspire Watching hearts with week-old stitches torn apart Darkens moods beyond repair Stare into shadows stretched across cold sidewalks Doubting if I can recall the last time cracks emerged Concealed in darkness, they elude peripherals, posing quite a threat to footsteps Fractured skulls result when heads turn over heels And this pavement does not help Every heart that drifts from euphoric to morose Adds a layer of despair Every heart once seen soaring high has been removed From the skies now pouring rain Search the streets for hope and instead find open hearts Soaked and saturated gray
