Minnesota's Coeus the Boxing Titan offers a more unique take on the Prog Rock genre, roughly sounding like Pink Floyd playing Noise Rock after being stabbed in
Minnesota's Coeus the Boxing Titan is a musical deity that descended from the clouds back in 2008, as a way for sole member and songwriter Aro to vent pent-up emotion and punch holes in the fabric of modern rock. Combining his own takes on several genres, Coeus takes enormous influence from progressive, psychadelic, and industrial rock; artists like John Frusciante, Pink Floyd, Queens of the Stone Age, Primus, Beck, Mike Patton, and King Crimson. There are many undercurrents that help make the style distinct; downtempo and hip-hop music were a huge inspiration, as well as funk, noise rock and electronica. With nothing but cheap instruments and a PC, Coeus music is written with a heavy emphasis on the atmosphere and production of each song. The lyrics are stitched together from the chaos of the human mind, dealing with subjects like introspection, sanity, relationships, and heartache.

Lyrics
-verse1- God's in a lab in California after your perfect soulless persona can't be high enough to maintain a smile colder than normal keep them fake nails filed feel an instant urge to head westward and prove never'd let your past ever bother you forgot the sore eyes and that constant ache how you couldn't sleep gunshots kept us awake -chorus- drunken fights in dim streetlights our California nights despite all these nightly highs pieces of the dream die drunken fights in dim streetlights our California nights despite all these nightly highs you're losing traction, so take some action -verse2- God's in a lab in California after your perfect soulless persona few trust their lives to drunken circus clowns just because they're the most fun freaks in town raise lighters like tides to burning bridges igniting flames all throughout the pacific so much to do here couldn't enjoy it since each checkered move jumps and destroys it -chorus- drunken fights in dim streetlights our California nights despite all these nightly highs pieces of the dream die drunken fights in dim streetlights our California nights despite all these nightly highs you're losing traction, so take some action -outro- once made her sick caused so much pain city finally drove her insane a stranger's hands her bleeding head face on the wheel when would it end? pushed through her car door to these busy streets a mix of daze and fear she ran with bare feet darting through an alley that she had never seen but it's here she got raped and woke up from the dream God's in a lab in California after your perfect soulless persona God's in a lab in California after your perfect soulless persona
