Based in Chennai (Madras) as the name suggests, El Madras was formed by rapper Shriraam and producer Surya in May 2011. Hip-hop in India is new, and a lot of new artists and crews are coming up throughout India. El Madras is one of the youngest and freshest crews in the game. Inspired from international artists like Eminem, Jay-Z, KRS-One, Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, Tonedeff, Slaughterhouse , the duo aim at creating hip-hop which rap mags and the general music listeners would appreciate and take hip-hop to a bigger stage in India.
Story behind the song
The Indian Rap Forum (I.R.F) hosted the nationwide One Mic tournament in July, 2011 - an online audio tournament. Over 40 emcees took part in the first round of the battle. This is The Rawskull's entry for the tournament. Eight emcees made it through to Round 2, including the Rawskull.
