Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
I seem to remember spending a big chunk of 2010 in various European airports waiting for flights here there and everywhere and found myself wondering what all those people are up to - how many are on dodgy business? You know how it is - you're sitting there, hours to wait, nothing to do, and you are suddenly siezed by airport madness. What's that guy doing? That couple look suspicious. Is she signalling to that security guy? THE WHOLE AIRPORT IS FULL OF SPIES! This tune is for the CBC James Bond challenge Sept 2011 but is probably more inspired by Moby's brilliant theme for the Bourne movies.
Lyrics
Handshook the deal in Kurfurstendamm Looks like we're celebrating Showed my papers to the passport man Hope he doesn't keep me waiting Back into Schipol on a KLM Oh I didn't think we'd make it I don't hate anybody more than them But sometimes you have to take it Please Somebody tell me It's all gonna end Too much money from the red table game Could have had an implication But I don't think anybody had my name Much less the inclination Left in the middle of a reasonable doubt's Not the best place for your comfort I'm just looking for a quick way out Hope they haven't got me numbered Please Somebody tell me It's all gonna end Eleven months later when I got the call Strange how I can find it funny All my principles went to the wall Tempted by easy money So here I am sitting in CDG Waiting on the next Milano This is the life that's chosen me Innocent as my cargo Please Somebody tell me Oh please Somebody tell me Oh please Somebody tell me It's never gonna end

This is far too good to be 'Punk' ! No . . . this is good old-school ROCK with attitude. Great lyrics delivered at an exhausting and lively pace. wow. I'll have to sit down after hearing this great song. (actually I am sat down; but you get my drift). What's your 'business' that has you jetting all over the place Steve ? Import and Export . . . that was Bond's usual 'cover'. :)
